Our Mission
As a provincial association, we are advocates of community partnerships in the support of health care in Ontario through education, fund-raising opportunities and the promotion of volunteer services to people.
SFMH Auxiliary
Since its beginning almost 60 years ago the St Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and its predecessors have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars and given immeasurable hours to benefit healthcare within the St Francis Community. In excess of $1 000,000 has been provided for equipment and services and the Foundation’s Capital Equipment Campaign since the Hospital’s opening in 1960.
The SFMH Auxiliary operates with a volunteer Executive of 12 with assistance of convenors. Membership of the auxiliary currently numbers just over 360.
The auxiliary’s primary purpose is to assist the hospital by providing funding for equipment, educational awards and patient comfort programs. Funds are raised through the gift shop operations, Nevada ticket sales, raffles, article bingos, cookbook sales, sidewalk sales and other special events. As a fundraising group, on April 13, 2007 the Auxiliary has handed in $110 000.00 of their $200 000 commitmentfrom 2003-2008.
