We welcome you as a volunteer to St. Francis Memorial Hospital and assure you that the service you are performing is deeply
appreciated by administration, the staff, and above all, the patients.
You may volunteer several times a week, once a
month or whatever suits your schedule and interests.
Typical Volunteer Tasks May Involve:
- Performing personal services to patients- i.e. reading, writing letters
- Assisting in recreational activities- i.e. cooking, baking, crafts, games
- Assisting with seasonal decorating of the patient care areas
- Delivering mail or Clerical assistance- i.e. photocopying, computer word processing, filing, etc.
- Assisting patients at mealtime or delivering meal trays
- Assisting patients with other personal care needs- i.e. hair grooming
- Taking able patients for walks
Who Can Volunteer?
- Volunteers are welcomed in specific areas of hospital services.
- Persons thirteen years and above, can be volunteers
- The individual must be responsible, able and in good health to volunteer
- Volunteers must commit to working in confidence at the hospital
Application And Interview Process
All potential volunteers are required to complete an application form and including personal and/or professional
references prior to acceptance as a volunteer
All persons applying for a volunteer position will be interviewed in person by the Volunteer Services Coordinator
