Angels Among Us

Judy Beaulieu is no ordinary lab technician; she’s a technician with Angel wings!

Recently, Judy received her wings as part of the SFMH Foundation’s Guardian Angel Program. She was pinned by Mr. Roger Jones of Golden Lake, in recognition of the compassionate and efficient care that she provided to his late wife Vera over the past few years. “Judy is just the best. Because Vera was diabetic, it was often hard to get a needle into her veins, but Judy did it the first time, every time. She used to say, I made a hole here Vera, but you are not leaving until that hole is closed up!” Roger went on to say that Judy was very special to Vera, and he was pleased to be able to publicly recognize Judy so everyone can know just how special she is, and how she goes out of her way to treat people with a smile each and every time.

Judy was touched by this gesture from the Jones’. “All of the patients here feel just like family to me. I enjoyed seeing Vera when she came. I know she found it hard to have her blood taken, so we always tried to make it a good experience. I am very honoured to be receiving this pin from Roger.”

The Guardian Angel program recognizes extra ordinary efforts of any care givers, staff, or volunteer at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. When a person makes a donation to this program, they name their “Guardian Angel” who receives an angel lapel pin unique to St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Their gift in turn helps the Hospital purchase much needed new and replacement equipment.

Anyone wanting more information about this program should contact Toni Lavigne- Conway at the Foundation office at 613-756-3045 ext 217.
