Physiotherapy

The Physiotherapy Department has a Physiotherapist, and a Physiotherapy Aide/Clerk to help in-patients and out-patients regain and maintain function in their activities of daily living.

We use many modalities to relieve pain, promote healing of tissue and
to improve balance and mobility such as:

  • heat and cold therapy
  • massage
  • electrotherapy, laser, magnetic field therapy, ultrasound
  • therapeutic exercise
  • traction
  • manual therapy
  • education
  • assess patients for walking aids

These modulities are used to relieve pain, promote healing of tissue and to improve/maintain balance and mobility.

A Doctor's referral is required to receive our services. Outpatient services are provided for acute injuries only (i.e. after surgery or fracture, sudden injury, etc.) Once a doctor has been seen, the department should be contacted by the doctor or the patient to notify us that physiotherapy has been ordered. We will then let you know the date and time of your first appointment.

The department is open:
