The St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) is a 20-bed, fully accredited facility located 1.5 hours west of Ottawa, serving a catchment area of over 10,000.  SFMH provides medical and complex continuing care as well as extensive ambulatory care with over 12,000 emergency and clinic visits per year.

Come join us! As a result of upcoming student opportunities at SFMH, we are hiring Temporary Full-Time Clinical Care Assistants with our Medical Unit and Emergency Department.

Pay Grid: $20.60 - $24.87 /hour

Under the direct supervision of an RN or RPN, and as part of our care team your duties would include:

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Obtaining and documenting vital signs and weights, care provided


• Personal Care and Grooming, including toileting, assisting with feeding/snacks, bed linen changes, repositioning etc.                                                                       


• Ambulation/Transfers, portering                                                                                             


• Answering Bells                                                                               


• Stocking Supplies/Carts                                                                                


• Directed to assist with emergency situations                                      


• Assisting with Oxygen under direction of Registered Staff


• Other Duties as Assigned by the Nurse Manager/Coordinator

Qualifications:

• Nursing student in any year of study in a College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) approved Baccalaureate Nursing (BScN or BN) program and Practical Nursing (PN) program.


• Literacy skills to read, write, speak and follow written direction

• Able to perform the duties within the physical demands of the work environment


• A vulnerable sector check (VSC) valid within the last six (6) months (or, the ability to obtain)
