St. Francis Memorial Hospital is a 20 bed, fully accredited facility, offering medical, and complex continuing care. Special inpatient services include palliative care, diabetes clinic, telemedicine and Cardiac Rehabilitation. A two bed Hospice is directly down the hall from our inpatient unit. The hospital has an extensive ambulatory care program with over 10,000 emergency visits per year. A six-station satellite hemodialysis unit is located at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay.

Come join us! As a result of internal growth at SFMH, we are hiring a Permanent Full-Time Maintenance Specialist - Electrician in our Maintenance Department.

Pay Grid: $36.45 - $37.47/hour

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Department Manager, the Maintenance Specialist maintains the hospital plant, equipment, and associated buildings and grounds, in order to provide a safe, efficient and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Electrician, proof of 309A Red Seal Electrical License
  • Experience with Carpentry / Plumbing / Gas Fitting /Dry Wall/ Painting etc is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude necessary for emergency repairs to critical equipment
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, blueprints and detailed specifications;
  • Ability to perform the duties within the physical demands of the work environment
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to support team members in acquiring knowledge and skills to support the efficient operation of the department.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including email and Outlook calendar.
  • Must be able to take charge of work assigned and complete assignments in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work shifts occurring on posted schedules including on-call.
