Updates to Visiting Guidelines at SFMH

Further Changes to the SFMH Visiting Policy -
March 28, 2022

We are pleased to inform you that a further change has been made to visiting policy at SFMH.  We continue to be aligned with other hospitals in the region and effective March 28, all SFMH patients may have two visitors at one time. Visiting hours will remain the same (11:00am-8:00pm) and masks must still be worn for the full duration of the visit.

The requirement of being fully vaccinated (2 doses) for COVID-19 remains in place and the visitors must screen at the Registration desk with every visit.

Visitors are to stay in the patient's room to minimize movement in the facility. Compliance with universal masking, hand hygiene and other PPE as applicable (isolation rooms) is a must.  Non-compliance will result in privileges being revoked.

Complex Continuing Care patients can now go out on a pass and patients may go outside with family. Pastoral care providers are able to come in to see patients and see more than one patient during their visit but must perform hand hygiene between rooms/visits. Volunteers will also be able to visit patients but must be fully vaccinated.

Please note that if SFMH were to declare an outbreak or if the local situation worsens, further restrictions may be implemented as required to ensure patient safety.

We thank everyone for their continued dedication and vigilance related to COVID-19 protocols that remain in effect to protect staff, patients, and families.
