Germaine Parcher

Germaine Parcher

Germaine has been a proud resident of the community since 1971 and brings a wide range of experience in finance, education, business, and community service to the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.

She worked for 20 years as a Chartered Professional Accountant, specializing in the not-for-profit sector, before shifting her career to education. After earning her Bachelor of Education, Germaine taught at Madawaska Valley District High School until her retirement in 2019. She continues to support local education as a supply teacher.

For over 30 years, Germaine and her husband Bob owned and operated Opeongo Trail Resort in Combermere, a family-run business they proudly passed on to their children. Together, they raised five children—Carolyn, Rhea, Alanna, Aaron, and Lauren—all alumni of Madawaska Valley District High School and subsequent university graduates. They are now the proud grandparents of six grandchildren, with two of their children and their families continuing to live in the area.

Germaine remains actively engaged in the community as a member of the Combermere Recreation Committee and a regular volunteer at children's sports events. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Passionate about the future of local healthcare, Germaine is committed to ensuring that St. Francis Memorial Hospital continues to thrive and provide exceptional care for generations to come. Her deep community ties and diverse professional background make her a valued member of the board.
