Staffing Coordinator

This Permanent Part Time, Non-Union position is 4 hours daily (typically 8am-noon), Monday-Friday.  The Staffing Coordinator ensures that the clinical units are staffed adequately for each shift.  Daily staffing records are maintained for all nursing units.  Inputs hours of work into the payroll system for all clinical staff.  The Staffing Coordinator reports to the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) and works closely with CNE and Charge RN’s.  Develops, posts, updates master schedules.

REQUISITE SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an approved Executive Secretarial Admin. program or minimum of 2 years relatable equivalent experience.
  • Previous staffing/scheduling experience required, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Payroll experience an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential,
  • Organizational skills required with an ability to prioritize duties
  • Demonstrated ability to cope under pressure, including meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work without supervision in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Accounting/payroll background preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Alertness to detect errors and work with accuracy
  • Ability to perform the duties within the physical demands of the work area
  • Ability to work with staff effectively and courteously.  Excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • Knowledge of ONA and OPSEU union contracts an asset.
